We enjoyed the opportunity to meet with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack in DC March 2023. We were invited to discuss the economic opportunities for farmers and rural communities related to domestic sourcing of plant based foods.
Growing oats on our farm has not only helped us maintain a healthy rotation of soil building crops, it also helps us tell the story of farm to market foods for human consumption. We strive to grow high quality products that feed our communities and bring life back to rural America!
Enjoyed speaking during this Farmer-to-Farmer session with Wade Dooley at the Practical Farmers of Iowa conference January 2023. We heard from several farmers who are interested in adding cover crops to their operation. Let us know how we can help you get started with protecting your soil and your farm's future!
We were invited to speak about our experiences using sustainable farming practices and our insight on domestic sourcing of food grade crops at the Plant Based World Expo in New York this week.
Our top consultant, Landon Plagge, did a great job representing GASC and Plagge Farms, Inc. We believe everyone should know where their food comes from and understand the practices used in growing!
Green Acres Seed Co (GASC) has experience implementing field days, hosting local 4H clubs and school groups, and providing targeted education and consulting on cover crop practices.
Ongoing call to action
We are very interested in connecting with local corporations to build partnership and establish relationships to benefit the long-term viability of this program increasing soil sustainability efforts around farming practices in North Central Iowa.
